A couple of caveats on the list that follows.

It is not complete, but it is fairly comprehensive. Some smaller films may not open when they are slated to or at all, although the dates for big-budget films like "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" or "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" are carved in stone.

MAY 6

The Beaver: Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with Mel Gibson in this dramedy about a man on a journey to rediscover his family and restart his life aided by a hand puppet.

Last Night: While apart for one night, a married couple (Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington) are confronted by temptations in the forms of Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet that may decide the fate of their marriage.

Passion Play: A washed-up jazz musician (Mickey Rourke) is forced to work for a gangster (Bill Murray) and deliver a beautiful and mysterious carnival sideshow attraction (Megan Fox) to him.

Something Borrowed: Romance and friendship collide after a woman (Ginnifer Goodwin) spends the night with the fiance of her best pal (Kate Hudson).

Thor: In this adaptation of the comic book from director Kenneth Branagh, the Norse god of thunder is exiled on Earth, where he hooks up with a team of scientists (Natalie Portman among them) and joins the fight against a

bad guy from his own realm.

MAY 13

The Big Bang: A Los Angeles private investigator (Antonio Banderas) encounters a recently paroled Russian boxer with an intriguing offer: find his missing girlfriend and the $30 million stash of diamonds she's hiding.

Bridesmaids: Even as her own life is falling apart, a maid of honor (Kristen Wiig) aims to lead a pack of bridesmaids on a grand wedding ride for her best friend (Maya Rudolph).

Everything Must Go: A salesman (Will Ferrell) gets fired for falling off the wagon and returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard. He holds a yard sale that becomes a unique strategy for survival.

Priest: A warrior priest (Paul Bettany) in a world besieged by vampires sets out to rescue his abducted niece before the bloodsuckers make her one of their own.

MAY 20

Beautiful Boy: A couple (Michael Sheen and Maria Bello) look for some hint of an explanation after finding out that their only son committed a mass shooting at his university before taking his own life.

The Lion of Judah: Animated story about a bunch of stable animals who try to save a pig who may be the feast at a town festival.

Midnight in Paris: Woody Allen's romantic comedy about a young man's great love for Paris, and the illusion people have that a life different from theirs would be much better. It stars Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: "Pirates" returns in a stand-alone story that sends Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow on a hunt for the fountain of youth. With Penelope Cruz and Ian Mc-Shane; Geoffrey Rush returns as Jack's nemesis Barbossa.

MAY 26

The Hangover Part II: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis reunite for another clueless morning after. This time, Stu (Helms) is getting married in Thailand.

Kung Fu Panda 2: Jack Black's tubby animated hero Po has settled in as head of a martial-arts team that includes a menagerie of experts voiced by Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan and Lucy Liu. Gary Oldman provides the voice of a villainous peacock.

MAY 27

The Tree of Life: Terrence Malick's impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950s follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack is played as an adult by Sean Penn.

JUNE 3

Beginners: An average guy (Ewan McGregor) meets an unpredictable woman (M lanie Laurent) months after his father (Christopher Plummer) comes out of the closet at age 75.

Love Wedding Marriage: When a newlywed marriage counselor (Mandy Moore) learns that her parents are headed for divorce, she sets out to save their marriage at the expense of her own.

X-Men: First Class: James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are the future Professor X and Magneto - superpowered mutants who start as allies but end up deadly enemies in their quest to find a place for their freak-of-nature kinsmen.

JUNE 10

Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer: Based on the children's book series. Judy (Jordana Beatty) sets out to have the most thrilling summer of her life with the help of her fun-loving Aunt Opal (Heather Graham).

Super 8: In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a Super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place. Written and directed by J.J. Abrams, produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning.

JUNE 17

The Art of Getting By: Freddie Highmore plays a lonely and fatalistic teen who has made it to his senior year without ever having done a real day of work, who is befriended by a girl ( Emma Roberts) who recognizes in him a kindred spirit.

Green Lantern: Ryan Reynolds stars as an ordinary guy who gains superpowers from a ring bestowed by a dying alien.

Mr. Popper's Penguins: Jim Carrey returns to the animals with this adaptation of the beloved 1938 children's book.

JUNE 24

Bad Teacher: Cameron Diaz's title character is rude, raunchy and boozy, with a lesson plan mainly aimed at hooking a rich substitute teacher (Justin Timberlake) while fending off advances from a nice-guy gym instructor (Jason Segel).

Cars 2: Owen Wilson's Lightning McQueen heads out on an international racing circuit, where rickety tow-truck buddy Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) is mistaken for an undercover agent and pressed into service by a slick British spymaster (Michael Caine).

JULY 1

Larry Crowne: Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts reunite for a dramatic comedy about how the hard knocks from today's recession inspire one everyday guy to undergo a personal reinvention.

Monte Carlo: Romantic comedy with Selena Gomez about a girl and two friends who go to Paris. When one is mistaken for a spoiled British heiress, they find themselves going on a dream vacation to Monte Carlo.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Reunites "Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf and director Michael Bay as an event out of Earth's past touches off a new round in the struggle between two warring robot races.

Horrible Bosses: In this workingman's comedy fantasy, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis are underlings who take bad advice from an ex-con (Jamie Foxx) about how to do away with their awful overseers (Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell).

One Day: The romance adapted from the best-seller charts the two-decade relationship of a couple (Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess) who meet on the night of their college graduation.

Zookeeper: A lonely animal tender (Kevin James) gets lessons on courting women from his charges - a menagerie of talking critters.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint head back to Hogwarts for the last time in the final showdown between good and evil wizards.

Salvation Boulevard: Crime thriller set in the world of mega-churches with Pierce Brosnan, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly and Marisa Tomei.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan: Story of a female friendship in 19th-century China from Lisa See's novel.

Winnie the Pooh: The honey-loving bear returns with Tigger, Piglet, Roo and Eeyore, who gets help finding a new tail after losing his own.

JULY 22

Captain America: The First Avenger: Chris Evans stars as a 98-pound weakling who volunteers for a military program that bulks him up into super-soldier Captain America, leading a team of heroes battling archvillain Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).

Friends With Benefits: A young headhunter (Mila Kunis) in New York convinces a potential recruit (Justin Timberlake) to accept a job in the Big Apple, then they start a strictly physical affair.

JULY 29

Cowboys & Aliens: A mysterious gunslinger (Daniel Craig) and a cattle baron (Harrison Ford) put together a posse of townsfolk, outlaws and Apache Indians to go after bad guys from space in 1873.

Crazy, Stupid, Love: Steve Carell goes awkwardly back on the dating market after his wife (Julianne Moore) gives him the boot, and a smooth operator (Ryan Gosling) takes him on as "wing man."

The Smurfs: The little blue guys find themselves exiled to Manhattan's Central Park.

Bellflower: Two friends spend their free time building flamethrowers and weapons of mass destruction in hopes that a global apocalypse will occur. Then reality strikes.

The Change-Up: Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman star as old friends with drastically different lives - one's a stressed-out lawyer and family man, the other's a slacker - who wake up after a drunken night to discover they've switched bodies.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: James Franco and Freida Pinto lead the human cast as researchers into simian intelligence as the world begins to come under new management.

The Whistleblower: Based on a true story about a female cop from Nebraska (Rachel Weisz) who serves as a peacekeeper in postwar Bosnia and exposes a U.N. cover-up of a sex trafficking scandal.

30 Minutes or Less: Jesse Eisenberg stars in an action comedy about a pizza delivery guy abducted by crooks and forced to rob a bank.

The Help: From the best-selling book, Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer play three very different women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project.

Higher Ground: Vera Farmiga stars and directs this indie film based on Carolyn Briggs' memoir "This Dark World" about her struggle with her faith.

AUG. 19

Conan the Barbarian: The new take on the warrior has Conan (Jason Momoa) on a personal vendetta that turns into a heroic mission against supernatural evil.

Fright Night: The remake of the 1980s horror comedy stars Colin Farrell as a newcomer targeting the kid next door, who has discovered his neighbor's a vampire.

Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World: A mother (Jessica Alba) returns to her old profession of spying in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time.

AUG. 26

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark: A young girl moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in a creepy 19th-century mansion they are restoring.

Final Destination 5: Is this finally the final installment in the horror series? This one involves survivors of a suspension-bridge collapse.
