The Bachelorette Recap: Bentley's Back

The Bachelorette Recap: Bentley's Back

Ashley Hebert

He left her with three dots ... and, ultimately, betrayal.

This week's episode of The Bachelorette opens with the news that Bentley, Ashley Hebert's former suitor who previously left the show (and left her in tears) had flown half way across the world to reunite with her in Hong Kong.

"I'm having a really hard time completely forgetting about Bentley, and what could have been," says Ashley (who was not privy to his mean-spirited comments until the show began airing). "When he left, he told me he wants to end on a 'dot, dot, dot.' That usually means 'to be continued.' I need the closure from Bentley to really move on."

What happened when the pair reunited? Keep reading:

After telling Bentley how difficult things had been for her since he left with ambiguous intentions, Ashley seems to quickly discern that he did not travel to Thailand to re-join the show.

"So this is our period?" she asks. And when Bentley continues to be vague but encourages her to explore what she has with the other men on the show, Ashley finally comes to the conclusion that he had been manipulating her.

"I cannot believe that I wasted so much time on Bentley," she said. "I needed this time away from him to be able to see through him. He's such a player. He disrespected me to the core. Bentley, if you're watching this, [bleep] you; I'm done with you."

With that closure ? and one all-important grammatical adjustment ? behind her, Ashley set sail on a one-on-one date with Lucas, and gave him a rose.

Next, she brings six of her remaining guys out on the water for another nautical date, awarding Ryan the sole bloom. And on her final one-on-one date of the episode, Ashley confides in J.P. about her controversial reunion, and gives him a rose.

And while Bentley is long gone by the time the cocktail party begins, the drama sticks around. Ashley shares the news about her rendezvous with the rest of the bachelors ? and some are far less supportive than J.P. of her quest for closure.

"She's wasting my f??ing time," says Lucas. "I was angry," adds Blake, while Mickey actually decides to leave the show and go home over the ordeal.

With four men left and three roses, Ashley says goodbye to Blake.
