According to E! Online, Nathan Lee Parada was found guilty of felony attempted first degree burglary in April.
The prosecution argued that Parada came to Los Angeles from the Redlands, bought a star map to locate Hilton's Hollywood home, and walked to the heiress' house armed with two knifes.
In an interview conducted after he was apprehended by authorities, Parada claimed his intent was to "get money to go live on a deserted island."
Both Hilton and then-boyfriend Cy Waits were home during the time of Parada's attempted intrusion, and testified in court against him.
"I drew the gun on him and I screamed at him to drop the knives," Waits told the court, adding that Hilton ran to find a phone after they heard Parada trying to break open a window with the end of a knife.
Waits then went outside to try to talk to the intruder.
"I was polite in the beginning," he said, until Parada began to walk away. "He turned around and smirked and that is when I saw he had two large knives, a large steak knife and a large buck knife."
This isn't the first time Hilton has had a scary burglar-related incident at her home. In 2008, the infamous teenage 'Burglar Bunch' reportedly stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry, clothing, handbags and other luxury items from Hilton before they hit up other stars' homes.
Hilton talks about the the most recent burglary incident involved Parada on the first episode of her new Oxygen reality show, 'The World According to Paris,' starting around the 0:38 minute mark below.
